Spanning over 1,400KM of fiber optic cables, BGN is a fully owned and managed, protected terrestrial network by Batelco, connecting the GCC to the Middle East and the world through a single seamless network. Wavelength Services

Batelco’s Wavelength Service is based on a state-of-the-art DWDM technology enabling Batelco to offer its Wavelength Services. The service offers a transparent optical wavelength connection between two locations at a dedicated bandwidth. Batelco can also offer the local loops between the Batelco PoP and customer’s specified end-location restoration of the Wavelength Service and collocation services at cable landing stations.

Batelco’s Wavelength Services

IP Transit

IP Transit Service is a service of Internet and transmission designed for service providers that resell internet service requiring a high quality dedicated access to the global internet backbone. The Client must have a unique AS number to apply for the service.

Batelco is represented on the Internet with its own AS number, AS 5416, nationally and internationally and connected to international gateways to access the internet backbone through diversified high-capacity international links to regional and international global carriers and IP Transit providers.

Technical

  • Batelco providers the IP Transit service through its extensive and resilient local SDH network to its Internet Service Platform (ISP).
  • Batelco’s ISP is built to the highest industry standards with built in redundancy for key elements within the ISP.
  • Batelco offers a Single Mode Fiber Ethernet interface for each circuit ordered. It is the Service Provider’s responsibility to ensure the required ports/SFPs are available on their equipment to connect the circuit.
  • eBGP will be used to establish the IP Transit using the public AS numbers allowing both ISPs to manage the prefixes in a controlled and secure environment.
  • Batelco ISP advertises the Service Providers AS numbers and prefixes to the internet.
