Batelco Hosts its First Virtual Media Ghabga

May 7, 2020

Batelco hosted a Virtual Ghabga for members of the local media on Wednesday 06-May, the first event of its kind in the history of the Company.

Batelco was keen to continue with its tradition of hosting the annual Ghabga with the media during Ramadan despite the current circumstances, in order to show its great appreciation for their efforts in serving the Kingdom of Bahrain through news coverage and awareness on various issues, as well as their on-going support for Batelco in reflecting the various activities it undertakes. The gathering was held virtually this year to comply with the instructions of “Stay at home”. Since no Ghabga is complete without enjoying Bahraini Ramadan meals, Batelco arranged for the delivery of delicious meals from the Ritz-Carlton hotel to the homes of all guests, while ensuring that the delivery complied with health and safety directions.

Commenting on the occasion, Batelco General Manager of Corporate Communications & CSR Shaikh Bader bin Rashid Al Khalifa said, “It gives us great pleasure to be able to host our annual Ghabga differently this year, as we were keen to continue with this important event, in order to thank our media partners for their continued cooperation and unwavering support and their great efforts in delivering the Company’s news and achievements.”

“Through these events, we are keen to communicate with the local media partners and media members to exchange ideas and discuss future cooperation opportunities that bring together national companies and the national media, while serving the Kingdom of Bahrain. I would also like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the great professionalism and important role played by all media in the current circumstances, in educating the community and raising awareness in order to reduce the spread of Coronavirus,” he added.

This year, the Ghabga was attended by a number of media members, providing the opportunity to meet together virtually, creating a pleasant and positive atmosphere despite the current circumstances while adhering to health and safety instructions.
