**Go Green Charity Drive Success**

Batelco has announced the success of a Go Green Charity Drive held in support of the Bahrain Association for Parents & Friends of Disabled to help them in their efforts to provide special wheelchairs. During the month of July staff were encouraged to put all recyclable plastic used in the workplace in specially provided bins located throughout Batelco’s offices. Additionally a large skip was provided in Batelco’s Hamala headquarters’ car park for staff to place their household plastic waste.

Batelco Bahrain CEO Eng. Muna Al Hashemi said that everyone was delighted with the responsiveness of Batelco’s employees who really got on board by bringing their plastic waste from home as well as placing all water and juice bottles used during the day in the specially provided bins.

Dr. Dalal Alshrooqi, Chairperson of the Committee of Women and Children from Bahrain Association for Parents & Friends of Disabled visited Batelco recently and extended her appreciation to all at Batelco for their efforts. Dr. Alshrooqi was welcomed by a number of Batelco’s employees including BSS Team Leader – Mobile Operation, Nora Al Faraj, who introduced the idea of recycling for charity to Batelco’s management.

Dr. Alshrooqi said that she was delighted at the enthusiasm of all involved at Batelco for putting in so much effort to support the cause.

“We collect waste plastic throughout the year to sell to Bahrain Recycling Factory and the money raised is used to purchase special wheelchairs for members of our association.”

Mrs. Al Hashemi continued by saying that Batelco urges everyone in Bahrain to recycle their plastic waste in support of charities that can generate much needed funds to support their worthy causes.

“Not only will the money help to support charitable causes but it will also make a huge difference supporting a greener environment for the Kingdom of Bahrain,” she added.

Batelco Corporate Affairs Senior Manager Osama Alsaad said that looking after the needs of the community is very close to Batelco’s heart with the Company contributing to health initiatives on an ongoing basis.
