**Batelco only Bahrain Company Shortlisted for Awards Event**

Batelco, Bahrain’s leading telecommunications provider is delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist in the Best Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) category for the GISEC (Gulf Information Security Expo and Conference) 2014 event. The award ceremony will take place in the Dubai World Trade Centre on 10^th June.

Batelco’s selection as a finalist underscores Batelco’s security consciousness in following industry best practices to protect the information systems that deliver key services to customers. As the only organisation from Bahrain to make the shortlist, the selection reflects Batelco strong brand image and excellent reputation.

Batelco Networks Division General Manager Abdulhamid Chehab said that it was a great honour to make the shortlist for the upcoming awards event, as the only Bahraini candidate.

“This is a very good endorsement for our security practices and high standards that Batelco adheres to,” he said.

Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) is a security management platform that gives complete visibility into the security posture and threat landscape of an organisation’s security position. Batelco Security Operations Centre (SOC) implemented the SIEM platform in 2011 and has been actively using it to detect and mitigate threats in a proactive manner.
