  • iPhone: iPhone 6s and above
  • eService Username & Password
  • iOS: iOS 13.2 or later.
  • Watch OS: Watch OS 6.1 or later
  • Apple Watch: Apple Watch Series 3, 4, 5 & 6 (GPS + Cellular).

Open the Watch application on your iPhone.

Go to Cellular, select Set Up for Myself and follow the instructions as shown below:

Apple Watch Cellular Family Setup

 

With Family Setup, you can use your iPhone to pair multiple watches for your children or older adults who don’t have their own iPhone. So everyone can stay in touch by Phone, text message, or Walkie-Talkie. They can also do things like play music, find apps, and close their Activity rings. It’s more independence for them, and you have the comfort of knowing they’re just a call away.

Note that some Apple Watch features depend on having a companion iPhone, and aren’t available on an Apple Watch that you pair with, using Family Setup.

What do I need to activate my Apple Watch Cellular Family Setup?

  • iPhone: iPhone 6s and above
  • eService Username & Password
  • iOS: iOS 15 or later.
  • Watch OS: Watch OS 7.2 or later
  • Apple Watch: Apple Watch Series 4, 5 & 6 (GPS + Cellular).
  • Family Sharing Apple ID. Make sure you have set up Family Sharing. You can do so by going to Settings > Apple ID > Family Sharing > Add Member. You can add an existing Apple ID for your family member or create a new one. It’s also possible to add and create a new family member ID when you set up your Apple Watch.

How can I activate Family Setup if I don’t have a Postpaid mobile line with Batelco?​

You can visit your nearest Batelco shop, where we will help you to activate Family Setup on your Apple Watch Cellular.​

How can I set up my Apple Watch Cellular Family Setup?

  • Make sure that you have a Family Sharing Apple ID. For Family Sharing set up steps click here
  • Open the Watch application on your iPhone.
  • Go to Cellular, select Set Up for a Family Member and follow the instructions as shown below.

After the activation is completed successfully the below page appears and you will have 48 hours to visit your nearest Batelco shop in order to submit your fingerprint and complete the activation. The Family Setup package will not work without submitting the fingerprint and it will be cancelled after 48 hours.

Availability of features and apps on family setup mode

Health and fitness features:

  • High and low heart rate notifications are available for users 13 and older.
  • Fall detection is available for users 18 and older.
  • Users under the age of 13 can use move minutes, rather than active calories, for their Move goal in the Activity app.

The following features and apps are not available: irregular heart rhythm notifications, ECG, Sleep, Blood Oxygen, Podcasts, Remote, News, Home and Shortcuts.
