• What is an eSIM?

  eSIM technology embeds a digital SIM directly into your device, eliminating the need for a physical SIM card. With eSIM, users can quickly and easily transfer an existing cellular plan or get a new one digitally, store multiple eSIMs on the same device, and stay connected. With eSIM, you enjoy greater flexibility, enhanced convenience, better security, and seamless connectivity, especially when traveling internationally. ​

• Which phone models support eSIM?

  Apple ​

  iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR, or later support eSIM. ​

  Android & Huawei ​

  You can check your device compatibility by going to your device settings > SIM management > eSIM.

• How do I transfer my current eSIM to a new device as an eSIM on an iPhone?​
  • Enter your device settings and select ‘Cellular’ ​
  • Select the line you want to transfer ​
  • Select ‘Transfer Number’ ​
  • Confirm the Transfer on your other iPhone​
  • Allow 2 minutes for your eSIM to activate
• Do I need a Wi-Fi network to activate my eSIM?

  To activate an eSIM on an iPhone or Android, you will need a WiFi connection. ​

• Are all Batelco customers able to use an eSIM on iPhone? ​

  Yes, all Batelco customers are able to use an eSIM on an iPhone or Android as long as the device they are using is compatible to eSIM. ​

• How do I get a Batelco eSIM if I am not purchasing my iPhone on Android from Batelco? ​

  You can get a Batelco eSIM through the Batelco App or any Batelco Retail shop. ​

• How do I know if my iPhone is unlocked? ​
  1.  Go to Settings > General and tap ‘About’.​
  2. Under Carrier Lock, you should see a message that says, ‘No SIM restrictions’. If you don’t see that message, contact us.
• What should I do if my phone is lost or stolen with an active eSIM?​

  If your iPhone or Android with an active eSIM is lost or stolen, you can: ​

  • Contact 196​
  • Contact your Account Manager ​
  • Visit any Batelco Retail shop ​
  • Suspend your line ​
  • Do a SIM swap through the Batelco App
• What happens to my cellular plan if I erase my eSIM? ​

  If you delete your eSIM, your cellular plan has not been cancelled. To reinstall the eSIM, please visit the Batelco App or any Batelco Retail shop. ​

• Can I still use my Batelco eSIM if I travel internationally? ​

  You can use your eSIM while traveling internally. ​

• Can I activate or transfer my Batelco eSIM while being abroad? ​

  You can activate your eSIM using a QR code or through the Batelco App. eSIM transfer from one device to another is not available while being abroad. ​

• What is Dual SIM? ​

  Dual SIM allows users to use two phone numbers at the same time. For example, you can use one number for business and another number for personal. Or you can add a local data plan when you travel outside of the country or region. You can learn more about Dual SIM with an eSIM by clicking here. ​
