March 6, 2018

Training provided as part of Batelco’s Health & Safety Programme for the Workplace

Batelco, as part of its efforts to provide a safe and healthy working environment, provided First Aid training for its new Safety Marshals.  The Training, which was arranged by Batelco’s Health and Safety Division, took place at Batelco’s Hamala Headquarters and was led by Vicky Honar, a professional trainer from the First Aid Box (FAB), Bahrain’s one-stop-shop for all first aid needs.

The training course included CPR and basic First Aid skills plus how to use an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).  The course also included relevant information on safety measures and how to prevent incidents at the workplace.

Twelve employees from across Batelco’s various departments, who have volunteered to be Safety Marshals, attended to benefit from the valuable experience, and were issued with certificates at the end of the programme. The certificates have a three-year validity endorsed by High Field First Aid, UK.

Batelco’s Health & Safety Section provides a very crucial service with a comprehensive plan to deal with issues that may arise within Batelco’s premises.

The purpose of the first aid training is to empower participants through exercises and knowledge enabling them to handle any circumstances that might arise during a medical emergency.

FAB’s trainers are UK qualified Registered Nurses/Midwives and / or Paramedics with many years of knowledge and experience and attend regular professional development training to ensure their skills are up-to-date. Their courses are delivered in a fun, relaxed and enjoyable way using up-to-date and hygienic equipment and include plenty of ‘hands on’ practice and real life scenarios.
