Batelco Provides Fire Safety Training for The Children’s House Nursery School Staff
Training Part of Batelco’s Community Outreach Programme
Batelco’s Health and Safety Section, has provided fire safety training for The Children’s House Montessori Nursery School, as part of the Company’s Community Outreach Programme. The group of management and staff visited Batelco’s Hamala Headquarters to learn about fire safety drills in order to enhance their emergency training procedures at the school.
Batelco Senior Manager Security, Safety & Strategic Operations Phillip Marais and Batelco Health & Safety Manager Sayed Ebrahim Al Hashimi conducted the valuable training for the group of management and staff from The Children’s House, to familiarize them with the various types of portable fire extinguishers and their use in treating the different types of fire that may occur.
The exercise at Batelco HQ was followed up with a fire drill at The Children’s House premises conducted by Batelco Health and Safety Division and Bahrain Civil Defense personnel. On the occasion staff and children were educated on the correct procedures for evacuating the school safely should the need arise, keeping in mind the special requirements needed when looking after very young children.
Group General Manager Human Resources & Development, Shaikh Ahmed bin Khalifa Al khalifa said that the company encourages safety exercises to ensure staff at all levels are well-informed and are able to support others during emergency.
“The purpose of the fire safety training is to empower the employees through tactical exercises and necessary knowledge to be able to handle all circumstances that might arise during emergencies such as fire,” he added.
Batelco General Manager Human Resources and Corporate Service Suhaila Alnowakhda said that Batelco’s Health & Safety Division provides a very crucial service for the Company with a comprehensive plan to deal with issues that may arise within the Company’s premises beside its efforts for the community.
“The specialist fire safety training service provided as part the Community Outreach Programme, is an invaluable asset for places such as The Children’s House, where the care of young children is of the utmost importance,” she added.
