Batelco Continues Efforts Towards Global Service Excellence

Batelco, the region’s prime teleport services provider, continues to provide world-class teleport services to satellite and VSAT operators, with the company’s fully equipped teleport placing Bahrain on the global map of satellite operations.

Adding to its achievements in this field, Batelco has obtained a teleport certification from Eutelsat and is now listed as an approved teleport operator to provide services to customers of Eutelsat.

Eutelsat’s customers in return can benefit and make use of Batelco’s teleport facilities in Bahrain which provides seamless integration with national and international terrestrial and submarine networks and provides full support for satellite and VSAT operators to streamline their operations efficiently.

Batelco was awarded the certification after going through a comprehensive process, working closely with Eutelsat, to ensure the teleport meets the global standards of Eutelsat and is properly equipped to meet the global standards.

Batelco Bahrain CEO Eng. Muna Al Hashemi said that the new certification added further weight to Batelco’s global services portfolio.

“Such recognition demonstrates the commitment of Batelco towards service excellence and promoting Bahrain as a global hub for services,” she added.

Batelco Chief Global Business Officer Adel Al-Daylami added that Batelco, as the Middle East’s prime teleport services provider, provides world-class teleport services to satellite operators.

“We are proud that Batelco’s teleport boasts a 30,000 square metres of operational area with customers gaining access to the telecom’s MPLS, SDH and Ethernet national and international networks in addition to diverse Internet uplinks. Earlier this year, Batelco was welcomed by The World Teleport Association (WTA) as an Industry Patron Member. The support of Industry Patrons such as Batelco makes possible WTA’s research, publishing and cooperative development programmes. Batelco also recognises that the satellite industry is a key catalyst for the Bahraini economy, as it services a number of verticals including maritime, oil and gas, enterprise and broadcast.
