Celebrating 40 Years of Partnership: Batelco and Gulf Air Sign New
Agreement for Delivery of Digital Communications Solutions
Batelco, Bahrain’s leading digital communications solutions provider and Gulf Air, Bahrain’s national carrier, who are marking 40 years of partnership, have signed an agreement that will extend their longstanding business relationship and ensure the delivery of the latest communications solutions for Gulf Air’s evolving operation. Under the agreement, Batelco will provide Gulf Air with the latest communications solutions based on Dedicated Internet Access, Local MPLS and Global MPLS networks.
The new agreement was signed by Batelco Bahrain CEO Eng. Muna Al Hashemi and Gulf Air CEO Mr. Maher Salman Al Musallam during a meeting held recently at Gulf Air’s Muharraq headquarters.
Speaking on the occasion Eng. Al Hashemi said, “Batelco is proud to have worked hand in hand with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier, Gulf Air, for 40 years and looks forward to building on the relationship for years to come.”
“Accordingly, we are very pleased to sign this agreement with Gulf Air to provide the latest communications technologies customised to meet their specific requirements and support their digitisation efforts,” Eng. Al Hashemi added.
Batelco is committed to boosting the digital drive in the Kingdom to promote more efficient processes and operations. The provision of the latest technology and devices is in line with Batelco’s strategy as the leading digital services provider in Bahrain and a key player in the region.
During the meeting Mr. Al Musallam said, “Having access to the latest world-class services delivered by Batelco for many years as part of our fruitful partnership, has helped streamline Gulf Air’s operational performance. Batelco’s global data solutions give our teams on the ground and on-board greater capabilities.”
“It is in light of the 40 years of strong and mutually beneficial relations between Gulf Air and Batelco that we are delighted to embark on a new chapter with them and enter into a new agreement that will further boost the strong relationship that both organisations benefit from while allowing Gulf Air to continue utilizing the latest technologies as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance our operations and elevate our customers’ service experience,” Mr. Al Musallam concluded.
Gulf Air is committed to elevating the customer service experience on-board and continuous technological development is a key factor in this. In 2014 Gulf Air successfully rolled out its new generation iPad Electronic Flight Bags to all the airline’s pilots in order to facilitate the airline’s flight-critical communications while increasing operational efficiency and eliminating paper-based flight materials. The national carrier subsequently rolled out iPads to its cabin service managers.
