Batelco and Tamkeen Support Skills Development for Bahraini Graduates in the Field of Telecommunications
**Second Year of the Programme Launched at Training Centre Event**
Batelco, as part of its commitment to training and in line with its desire to cooperate with National institutions to train and develop Bahraini graduates, is continuing with its Telecommunications Professional Development Programme.
The programme, now in its second year, is in collaboration with Tamkeen and is providing specialised training for fourteen Bachelor Degree holders to prepare them for various jobs required by Batelco. The programme is also providing the necessary practical experience through placing the graduates in different departments at Batelco.
During the year, the trainees will take part in various kinds of theoretical and practical training through a highly integrated programme. The performance of each trainee will be appraised through monthly reports and professional performance tests.
Batelco Bahrain GM Human Resources &Corporate Services Suhaila Alnowakhda extended her congratulations to the candidates for their success in being chosen on this programme and wished them well as they embark on their new year of training.
“Batelco is honoured to participate in this programme. We would like to thank Tamkeen’s Chairman, H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Essa Al-Khalifa, for allowing us this opportunity of cooperation,” she added.
Speaking on the occasion of the 2nd year programme launch, Tamkeen’s Chief Operating Officer (COO), Amal Al-Kooheji, highlighted the importance of investing in the enhancement of skills and capabilities for Bahrainis as well as supporting employment and career advancement.
“Based on this principle, Tamkeen has developed programmes that aim to develop the human capital of Bahrain according to market requirements and provide Bahrainis with opportunities to gain the necessary skills to mould them into employees of choice” she stated.
Batelco Head of Human Resources and Union Relations Shaikh Bader Al Khalifa, who was also present to welcome the apprentices, expressed his support for the second year of the programme, saying that the collaboration between Batelco and Tamkeen has truly been beneficial for the young generation.
“It has allowed the apprentices to gain practical experience of various kinds of jobs that could improve their skills and enhance their overall education. We at Batelco are proud to be part of such a programme in the Kingdom.”
