Batelco Becomes AWS Direct Connect Partner
**Facilitating Dedicated High Performance Networking Solutions to Amazon Web Services**
Manama, Bahrain: Batelco, Bahrain’s leading digital solutions provider, has announced it has become an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect partner. This means Batelco is the first provider from Bahrain to enable customers around the region to connect directly to AWS infrastructure using the AWS Direct Connect service.
Organisations looking to connect to AWS to utilize the flexibility, scalability, and security of the AWS cloud can now do so via a direct, private connection on Batelco’s fully diversified global network. This provides customers the ability to procure secured connections for high availability and resiliency to use the AWS cloud.
Batelco Chief Global Business Officer Adel Al-Daylami explained that as organisations look to move more of their business critical applications to the cloud, network security and performance become critical success factors.
“By joining hands with companies such as Amazon Web Services, Batelco is enabled to offer the most in-demand services to its partners and clients and secure key projects connecting major organisations in disparate locations across the globe. Ultimately, our efforts and plans are in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s vision to be a Middle East hub for ICT solutions through the expansion of our global network and development of strong partnerships and innovative services, with strong emphasis on digital solutions,” he said.
Batelco is focused on providing innovative services that are relevant to its diverse range of clients’ businesses. Becoming an AWS Direct Connect partner boosts the Company’s global solutions portfolio and by offering the AWS Direct Connect Service over its reliable and resilient global private network, Batelco’s customers will enjoy a consistent and best in class performance.
“AWS Direct Connect provides a direct and secure low latency connection, enabling our customers to enjoy a private, secure, and high-performance connection to AWS over a one stop shop solution,” added Mr. Al-Daylami.
Batelco’s state-of-the art owned and operated, resilient IP/MPLS network spans the globe, connecting through network-to-network interface (NNI) arrangements with major world providers.
Amazon Web Services Director Worldwide Public Sector Max Peterson said that AWS is excited to be working with Batelco to bring organizations in Bahrain, and across the Middle East, an easy and secure way to connect their on-premises infrastructure to AWS.
“By becoming an AWS Direct Connect Partner, Batelco will help their customers reduce network costs, increase bandwidth throughput, and receive a more consistent network experience as they move their technology infrastructure and build new applications in AWS.”
As an innovation driver in Bahrain and the leading digital services provider, Batelco was the first in the Kingdom to launch a series of Cloud-based services.
