Batelco Chairman Visits Ericsson ‘Imagine Studio’ in Sweden
Manama, Bahrain: A delegation from Batelco, led by Chairman Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa visited Ericsson’s headquarters in Sweden. Ericsson Chief Executive Officer, Börje Ekholm alongside Ericsson leaders and executives received the Batelco team at the Company’s ‘Imagine Studio’, a meeting and event space that showcases Ericsson’s latest products, services and solutions.
During the visit, Ericsson experts presented multiple demos and innovative use cases that showcase futuristic products, solutions, and visionary scenarios, providing an opportunity to experience the power of limitless connectivity, and witness the potential of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in different sectors and industries.

As key strategic partners, Batelco and Ericsson have continued to build a fruitful relationship over many years and their collaboration has led to a number of key milestones including Batelco’s deployment of the first commercial non-standalone 5G network across Bahrain in 2019. Furthermore, earlier this year Batelco and Ericsson signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore a range of 5G technologies and enhance its network capabilities further, including working towards reducing network power consumption and developing solutions for smart and sustainable 5G networks.
